Bay and ocean beaches in and near Lewes, Delaware provide swimming, fishing, boating, and a host of other water sports. Located off of Cape Henlopen Drive, Savannah Beach (formerly known as Beach 1) and Johnnie Walker Beach (formerly known as Beach 2) provide guarded swimming from Memorial Day to Labor Day.
Both Savannah Beach and Johnnie Walker Beach locations have restrooms and shower facilities. The Lions Club snack shack located at Savannah Beach offers beach chair and umbrella rentals daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Beach wheelchairs are available at the beach patrol building at Savannah Beach. Lewes beaches are staffed by American Red Cross certified lifeguards from Memorial Day through Labor Day.
